Alec Perkins

Before Co-Founding HCM, Alec worked as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst at Perkins Investment Management where he was responsible for co-managing the Select Value Fund, All Cap Value and Value Plus Income Fund. He also served as an analyst covering REITs, homebuilders, media, education, and building products industries while at Janus/Perkins. Prior to Janus, Alec worked at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco. He has also been involved in a variety of non-profit activities including the School Site Council at Thurgood Marshall High School, Vice Chair of the Board at Town School, Board member at University High School, and Board Chair of Tipping Point Community. He received his bachelor of arts degree in history with minors in economics and Chinese from Middlebury College, and a master of arts degree from Stanford University as well as an MBA from the University of California – Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

Bob Perkins

Prior to Co-Founding HCM, Bob was the Founder of PWMCO and its successor firm, Perkins Investment Management, serving as President of PWMCO and as Portfolio Manager of the Perkins Small Cap Value Fund, Perkins Mid Cap Value and the Perkins Select Value Fund. Bob has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Barron’s and in The Wizards of Wall Street as one of the best Value Fund Managers in America. Prior to founding PWM, he worked for 12 years at Kemper Financial managing the Kemper Summit Fund and the Kemper Growth Fund. Bob graduated from Miami University with a bachelor of science degree in business and then served as a Lieutenant in the Navy for four years. Bob is also actively involved in the Perkins Malo Hunter Foundation, which he established to focus primarily on educating low-income children at the elementary school level and now serves over 80 schools across the country.

 

Tom Perkins

Prior to HCM, Tom served as CEO and Portfolio Manager at Perkins Investment Management. He was also a co- founder of PWMCO and its successor firm, Perkins Investment Management, serving as Portfolio Manager of the Perkins Mid Cap Value, Large Cap Value and the Perkins Strategic Value Fund. During Tom’s tenure managing the Mid Cap strategy which he launched in 1998, Tom was nominated by Business Week as the Fund Manager of the Year. Prior to Perkins Investment Management, Tom worked at Alliance Capital where he served as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for institutional accounts. Prior to Alliance, Tom worked as an analyst and Portfolio Manager at Kemper Financial management. Tom majored in history at Harvard University and served in the Navy after graduation.

Pete Lisnic

Prior to HCM, Pete worked as a Senior Equity Research Analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co., Inc., where he covered building products, consumer, and industrial businesses. During his tenure, Pete earned several Starmine/Financial Times awards, including the No. 1 stock picker awards for machinery (2012) and building products (2013). Prior to Baird, Pete was an Associate Director at Fitch analyzing corporate bond and credit ratings for bank, credit card, and other financial services companies, and also worked at KPMG where he was an auditor and senior consultant in the Corporate Transactions Group. Mr. Lisnic received his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. He is a CFA charterholder and a CPA (inactive) with over 20 years of financial industry experience.

 

Abhishek Kumar

Prior to HCM, Abhishek served as Investment Analyst and ESG Manager at Blackcrane Capital, a concentrated international equities manager. He was also an operator with Amazon’s AWS and Project Kuiper at the intersection of strategic finance, supply chain, and ESG. Prior to that, Abhishek worked at Oberweis Asset Management, a global multi-strategy investment firm, helping launch the small-cap emerging markets fund. He researched public equities across the developing world and built the firm’s ESG framework. Abhishek began his investment career as an ESG Analyst at MSCI, and earned his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Physics from Bates College. Abhishek comes to HCM with a decade-plus of experience in fundamental investing, ESG, and operations.

Rich Rovetto

Prior to launching HCM in 2020, Mr. Rovetto served as the Chief Compliance Officer for PWMCO. Rich worked in sales, operations, and compliance primarily at Merrill Lynch Private Client Group as Resident Vice President and Director at the company. In his various roles Rich has been responsible for managing a team of over 50 financial consultants and over 40 support staff. He has also worked as office manager of a futures branch office and worked as a Financial Consultant and Administrative Manager at Merrill Lynch handling compliance for multiple branch offices. Prior to joining Merrill, Rich worked at Northern Trust bank in their Trust Administrative Departments. Rich has his Series 7, 24, 53, 63, and 4 licenses. Rich graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA in finance and a minor in Mathematics.

 

Benjamin Wilson

Prior to launching HCM in 2020, Ben served as President, Treasurer, Financial Operations Principal & Director of Operations at PWMCO. Mr. Wilson has been with PWMCO for 14 years, and his current role as CFO and Head Trader includes being responsible for monitoring and maintaining the financial books and records of the RIA as well as trading for both the SMAs and funds. Before serving as President, Mr. Wilson was a Head Trader and Account Manager at PWMCO. Prior to PWMCO, Mr. Wilson was a Credit Analyst at PlainsBank of Illinois in Des Plaines, IL. Mr. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics from the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign. He holds Series 7, 65, 63, 55, 27, and 24 licenses. He has 18 years of financial industry experience.

Michelle Sanger

Michelle brings to Hunter Capital an expertise in management and executive support, including work as a training specialist and IT manager for a worldwide design group. For the past decade, she has managed the San Francisco office of Perkins Investment Management and served as executive support to the CEO. She also has years of experience in nonprofit research and managed giving for a family foundation focused on empowering women and children, environment, public education, and human rights. Michelle also worked for 10 years at a world-wide design firm based in SF as its Corporate Technology Manager, where she led both domestic and international IT projects. Michelle is originally from Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University.

 

Barry Kneisel

Prior to joining HCM, Barry worked for 18 years as an institutional equity salesperson at Robert W. Baird & Co, Inc., where he was the Managing Director of their nine-person Midwest team covering 225 institutional clients. Prior to his tenure at Robert W. Baird, Barry was an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. He enlisted and upon completion of Officer Candidate School completed Airborne, Pathfinder and Ranger training before serving 4 years of active duty. Prior to his military service, he spent 7 years as a financial advisor with Lehman Brothers and Paine Webber. Barry graduated from Miami University with a bachelor of science degree in management. He holds series 3 and 63 licenses, in addition to being CMT certified. Barry has over 30 years of financial industry experience.

Tom McDonnell

Prior to Co-Founding HCM, Tom spent his entire career with Kansas City Southern (KCS) and its subsidiaries. Tom served as CEO for DST Systems which was spun out from KCS as a public company in 1995. DST is the largest shareholder record keeper for the mutual fund industry. He is currently on the board of KCS and Euronet Worldwide. Tom previously served on a number of public company boards including Garmin, Cerner, Computer Sciences and Nellcor. He has also served as chairman of a number of civic and charitable organizations including The Greater Kanas City Chamber of Commerce, The Kansas City Civic Council, The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Tom has an undergraduate degree in accounting from Rockhurst University and received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Pleshetta Loftin

Pleshetta is the Chief Operating Officer for Persistent Capital with expertise in operations and compliance programs. She has worked with Persistent since 2014. Previously, she was employed by Compass EMP Funds/Victory Capital with responsibilities for overseeing the development of new products. Before Victory, she was employed by BBVA as the Chief Operating Officer over their Wealth Management department. While with BBVA she oversaw the firm’s investment program comprised of technical and fundamental portfolio development. Ms. Loftin graduated with honors with a Bachelors degrees in Finance and Management from Houston Baptist University and a Masters degree in Global Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

 

Alex Pazdan

Alex is a Founder and Principal of Persistent Capital Management. Alex has served as the Lead Portfolio Manager of the Global Diversified Program since its inception in 2003. Previously, Alex worked as a Portfolio Manager for Victory Capital Management, a publicly traded mutual fund company. He also helped design systematic index methodologies and quantitative strategies for VictoryShares ETFs. When he departed from Victory in 2017, assets in the funds he managed were at $2.5 billion. Prior to this, Alex worked for Eclipse Capital Management, a managed futures firm in St Louis, MO. While there he helped grow the firm from $40 million to $500 million in AUM. Alex worked in trading and research spending his last 4 years as their Senior Market Strategist. He designed over half of the firm’s proprietary trading models. Mr. Pazdan earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and Psychology from Vanderbilt University, and has over 25 years of financial industry experience.

Dan Banaszak

Dan Banaszak, CFA is a Portfolio Manager for Persistent Capital. Mr. Banaszak has served in his role as PM with Persistent since 2020. Previously, Mr. Banaszak worked as a PM for Victory Capital from 2015 to 2019. While at Victory he developed the trading and implementation processes for the firm’s ETF business and helped build systematic quantitative investment strategies for the firm’s mutual fund and managed accounts business. Prior to his time at Victory, he worked as an analyst and PM for Compass EMP Funds from 2011 to 2015. In his role at Compass, Dan worked in developing custom index methodologies and managing the firm’s index-tracking ETF and mutual fund suite. Prior to Compass, he worked in Chicago as an options market maker for the Lerner Trading Group. Mr. Banaszak graduated with a B.S.B.A in finance from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Banaszak has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation since 2011.
