HCM is an independent investment firm founded on the belief that excellent returns can be achieved by experienced investors implementing a time tested and repeatable process. Our predecessor firm, PWMCO, was founded over 40 years ago by Bob Perkins, Greg Wolf, Tom McDonnell and Tom Perkins who learned about investing from their mentor, John Hawkinson.

Today, HCM’s investment approach continues to be implemented by a team with over 100 years of combined investment experience managing separately managed accounts and funds on behalf of individual accounts, families, and foundations.

We do our work at HCM on behalf of clients who have stayed with us for decades. Our average client has been with us for over 20 years. As a result, we take great pride in the financial success they have achieved investing with us, and we are committed to delivering this same investment success going forward.

HCM is majority owned by its employees and is committed to giving back to our community. We believe steadfastly in the power of community. ESG considerations are a critical component of our stock selection process, how we identify great businesses, and vote proxies for our Funds. Over 20% of our investment gains and HCM profits are reinvested in high quality non-profit organizations with proven results.
